Skirting & architraves

Skirting boards and architraves

Skirting and architraves are the trim that makes a room look finished. Done well nobody notices them. Done badly, with gappy mitres, filler-heavy joins and paint on the floor, they're the first thing you see.

We supply and fit primed MDF, finger-jointed pine and solid timber profiles, from a plain 67 mm bevel to the tall colonial and bullnose profiles found in older Queenslanders and 1960s beach houses. Existing profiles can usually be matched from stock or run to order.

What's included

  • New skirting and architraves after flooring, plastering or renovation
  • Replacing water-damaged or termite-damaged trim
  • Matching heritage and colonial profiles in older homes
  • Scribing to uneven floors and walls
  • Caulking, filling and painting to a finished standard
  • Window reveals, sills and picture rails

How it works

  1. 01

Tell us the rooms and send a photo of the existing profile if you're matching.

  2. 02

We measure, quote per lineal metre, and confirm the profile and finish.

  3. 03

Fitted, filled, caulked and painted in one run.

Questions we get asked

Usually. Most Gold Coast and Tweed suppliers stock the common colonial, bullnose and lambs-tongue profiles. If yours is unusual we can have a short run milled to match.

Primed MDF is straight, stable and cheap, and fine for dry rooms. In wet areas, laundries or homes right on the beachfront we recommend moisture-resistant MDF or solid timber.

Yes. We fill, caulk and paint as part of the job unless your painter is doing it.
